Background
Lala is a PhD student whose research examines the intersections of sport, youth development, and employment within national policy contexts. Her work combines quantitative analysis of large-scale datasets with qualitative insights from stakeholders across government, sport organisations, and young people. She is particularly interested in how national development agenda shapes sport policy and how sport can be leveraged to improve socio-economic outcomes for youth. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a development practitioner at the Indonesian Ministry of Health and later at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat, where she managed regional youth and sport cooperation. These roles shaped her interest in sport for development (SfD), particularly its integration in sport policy.
