Background
Kavisha is an economist and Lecturer in Economics who holds a PhD and MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh, and an MBA in Finance and B.A. (Honours) in Economics from the University of Delhi. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, development economics and public policy, where she primarily uses general equilibrium models to examine the long-term effects of fiscal policies on human capital and macroeconomic outcomes. MATLAB is her primary tool for computational economic analysis, and she also has experience using Stata for empirical analysis. Before returning to academia, Kavisha worked in the Advanced Analytics team of a consulting firm, applying quantitative and economic analysis to complex strategic and business problems, as well as gaining experience in the public sector. She is particularly interested in bridging rigorous economic research with practical policy and business insights.

Research summary
Kavisha's research interest lies in the area of macroeconomics with a focus on the effect of unconditional transfers and other human & social development policies on intergenerational mobility and inequality in a developing country context. Her current work focusses on understanding the role of education related policies in reducing child labour and informality, using quantitative macroeconomic models.
