Background
Kathy manages everything to do with the running of the centre. This includes managing issues with the fabric of the building or IS; development of new systems, policies and prcedures; managing the day to day budget; managing the counsellors on a day to day basis; managing the Hope Park Administrator; managing the Profesional doctorate students on studentship; working with the Hope Park supervisors; organising and chairing the Advisory Group (4 x a year); putting together strategic plans.
Managing placement opportunities
Kathy also works with outside counselling agencies in Edinburgh and beyond to find placement opportunities for students on the professional training courses and managing the list of independent supervisors.
In addition, Kathy attends fortnightly counselling and Psychotherapy Team Meetings, participates in the interviewing of new students to professional programmes and in an annual pre-diploma information meeting; and acts as a liaison with COSCA (professional body).
