PhD supervisors:
Background
Joseph is a PhD candidate in Classics at the University of Edinburgh.
Joseph is writing a commentary and translation for book six of Flavius Cresconius Gorippus' poem 'Iohannis', or 'de bellis Libycis', a sixth century Latin epic detailing the military actions of John Troglita against North African rebels. Joseph's research interests fall broadly within Latin literature, from Lucretius or Manilius to Gorippus or Statius.
I first had come to like Classics when reading the great book 'Count Belisarius' by Robert Graves. I am a first year doctoral student having completed all my other degrees here at Edinburgh.
