Biography

Background

Qualifications

I have an BA in Accountancy and Computer Science from Heriot-Watt, a BSc in Geosciences from the Open University and an MSc in Carbon Capture and Storage from the University of Edinburgh.

Employment history

I spent 18 years working as a database/data analyst/programmer starting at Moray House College of Education (now part of UoE) and ending at HSBC Investment Bank in 2003.

After a few years break (children, OU study, freelance website development, Sainsbury's), I became a project coordinator at the School of Geosciences working on an EU funded project based in Mozambique.

Following that, I worked for Ecometrica for a few years and then came back to the University as a portfolio manager at the School of Informatics where I remained until 2022 when I moved to the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences.

My work at the University is predominantly research finance, but I have dabbled in many areas over the years.
