My main research interests generally pertain to cinema and questions of identity, particularly how cinema examines individuals or the collective's relationship to place on local, national, and international levels.

My current research is focused on Jewish cinema's portrayal of Jewish children's experiences of displacement from 1945-1961.Past research interests
Previous topics I have written on include explorations of local identity in Hong Kong cinema (1995-2000), and cinematic portrayals of Jewish space (1929-1939).Conference details
