Areas of interest for supervision
I am interesting in supervising research students (PGT and PGR) in sexual health, digital health, sexuality and qualitative methods.
Current research interests
I am an interdisciplinary researcher interested in the interface between sexuality, health, memory and online/offline practices. I am currently working on a variety of projects focused on how gay men negotiate HIV risk and COVID-19 risk, people experiencing memories of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and use of the internet for wellbeing during COVID-19. I am also actively working on pandemic preparedness and response, including COVID-19 and mpox.Knowledge exchange
As a sociologist, I seek to understand how people experience their sexuality and sexual health, make decisions around healthcare, and seek support. I can deploy a wide range of research techniques to understand how services work and evaluate interventions. I have particular expertise in evaluating digital and remote care interventions for HIV testing, sexual health and social support targetted at LGBT+ people.
I am interested in engaging with community partners and commercial stakeholders to evaluate service delivery during COVID-19 and develop new guidelines.
