Background
I am a clinician interested in understanding the biological mechanisms underlying serious mental health conditions such as psychosis and bipolar disorder.
I recently completed an MSc in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience where I examined viral exposures in a cohort of possible autoimmune psychosis patients screened for antibodies against most known viruses, and investigated the effects of quinone reductase 2 inhibition on hiPSC-derived neurons and microglia.
I currently work as a research assistant at the Hub for Metabolic Psychiatry, supporting participant recruitment, data collection and data analysis for the METPSY study, which aims to identify metabolic biomarkers of outcomes of serious mental health conditions in young people. My position is funded by the Galashan Trust.
