Hannah S Reyes

Background

I hold a BSc in Biology with a minor in Global Health from the University of California San Diego and an MPH in Epidemiology with a Graduate Certificate in Global Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

My background includes more than six years of experience across clinical research and public health, including work in hematology, gene therapy, immunization research, and epidemiology. As a county epidemiologist, I led disease surveillance and outbreak investigations and developed local surveillance and data-linkage practices as the county's inaugural epidemiologist.

I am currently undertaking a PhD in Precision Medicine at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on tuberculosis risk prediction in people living with multimorbidity.

Current research interests

My PhD research investigates how multimorbidity influences tuberculosis (TB) risk, disease progression, treatment outcomes, and long-term health in low-incidence settings. Using epidemiological and precision medicine approaches, I integrate clinical, demographic, and biological data from large population-based datasets to develop dynamic risk prediction models that capture the evolving nature of TB and co-existing chronic conditions. My work explores heterogeneity in TB outcomes across patient subgroups and health systems, including comparative analyses between Scotland and Sweden, with the aim of identifying high-risk populations and informing personalised TB management and evidence-based public health policy.
