Gülay Firatli (BA, LLM, PhD Candidate in Law)

Thesis title: Governing disputed maritime areas

Background

Gülay joined Edinburgh Law School in September 2017 as student undertaking an L.L.M. in International Law. 

Before joining Edinburgh Law School, Gülay attended to Durham University for a BA in International Relations.  During this time, she became interested in issues of public international law. 

Currently, Gülay is pursuing a PhD in Law at Edinburgh. Her thesis focuses on disputed maritime areas and explores exercise rights and implementation obligations of States vis-a-vis other States and non-State actors.
