Background

Having completed his PhD at the University of Toronto, Dr Guilherme Nothen joined the Moray House School of Education and Sport in November 2023. In his previous appointments, Gui worked at the University of Reading , the Federal Institute of Brasilia, and the Board of Education of the Federal District, Brazil. He also spent a semester as a visiting academic at Loughborough University. Since 2019, Gui has been contributing as a section editor for the journal Movimento. He is the acting programme director for the BSc (Hons) Sport Management.

Gui is chiefly interested in research on the intersections between sports and politics. His expertise also covers topics related to the sociology of sport and the pedagogy of physical education.
