Background

With over 20 years of experience in the creative and digital sectors, Gordon has built a distinguished career defined by a blend of artistic vision and operational expertise. Since graduating from the University of St Andrews in 2002, his early roles in Aberdeen and Glasgow honed his ability to deliver high-volume commercial design solutions under demanding deadlines.

Since joining the University in 2013, Gordon has been a creative pillar of the Easter Bush Campus, evolving from a specialist designer into a strategic Digital Service Lead. In this role, he acts as the vital link between complex digital infrastructure and the campus’s visual identity, ensuring that every digital touchpoint aligns with the College’s broader strategic goals.

Gordon currently oversees the creative and functional health of the School’s digital estate, managing the lifecycle of four major web platforms with a rigorous focus on user experience (UX), accessibility, and brand compliance. By translating the diverse needs of academic, research, and clinical stakeholders into high-impact visual solutions, he plays a key role in elevating the School’s global profile, driving student recruitment, and enhancing research visibility through intuitive, design-led digital experiences.
