Gordon MacPherson (BA (Hons), PG Dip)

Senior web and graphic designer

Background

With over 20 years of experience in the creative and digital sectors, Gordon has built a distinguished career defined by a blend of standout artistic vision and strategic campaign delivery. Since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a PG Dip in Vocational IT, his early roles across commercial design agencies and print studios honed his ability to deliver high-volume, premium creative solutions under demanding deadlines.

Since 2013, Gordon has been a creative pillar of the University of Edinburgh's Easter Bush Campus, evolving into a strategic Digital Service Lead. Operating at the intersection of design, brand strategy, and agricultural/veterinary science, he has spent over a decade translating complex scientific, research, and clinical concepts into high-impact visual narratives. His sector-specific expertise has been vital in driving successful student recruitment campaigns and providing commercial business marketing support for world-class animal hospitals.

An expert in the Adobe Creative Suite, user experience (UX), and digital accessibility (WCAG), Gordon thrives on executing full end-to-end campaign lifecycles. Whether designing responsive layouts for complex web estates, formatting large-format commercial print layouts, or developing engaging multimedia assets, he is dedicated to creating original design solutions that capture diverse audiences, elevate organisational profiles, and drive positive behaviour change.
