Office Manager and Executive Assistant

Background

Gemma's background is mainly customer service, sales and administration.  After spending 7 years working for a group of English language schools, Gemma took on a role at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry which was to ignite her motivation to focus her career on the field of child safety and protection.  In April 2022, Gemma took up the role of Administrative/Personal Assistant at Childlight - Global Child Safety Institute in which she managed diaries of the senior leadership team, assisted with recruitment, managed office space, processed expenses and booked staff travel.   

In May 2023, Gemma secured the role of Office Manager and Executive Assistant to which she now line manages an Administrative Assistant.

Gemma's main responsibilities are;

  • Managing the diaries of the CEO and COO of Childlight
  • Creation and management of the administrative function of Childlight
  • Mentoring and line management of an Administrative Assistant
  • Managing recruitment and office space
  • Management of quarterly Steering Board Meetings
  • Processing procurement orders and goods receipting
  • Arranging travel, travel insurance and risk assessments
  • Administration of the Childlight Ethics Advisory Committee

Gemma was Highly Commended for the Outstanding Team Player Award at the 2023 CAHSS Recognition Awards.
