Biography

Background

Vivien completed her PhD in Immunoparasitology at the University of Dundee in 2024 under the supervision of Henry McSorley, where she focused on identifying helminth immunomodulatory molecules. Her current research investigates how Schistosoma mansoni infection shapes immune responses in the gut, with a particular interest in interactions between immune, epithelial, and stromal cells. Through this work, she aims to identify mechanisms of parasite-driven immune modulation that could be harnessed to inform therapeutic strategies for inflammatory diseases.
