Background

Rui Zhang is currently a Tutor in Chinese at the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh. She obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and specialised in second language acquisition and education. Her research interests are in teaching Chinese as a foreign/second language, classroom discourse, and Vygotsky's sociocultural theory. She has been teaching and researching Chinese as a foreign/second language in and outside UK for over a decade. Dr Rui Zhang presented research on language education and pedagogy at different conferences across the UK/globe.
