Biography

Background

Monica joined the Edinburgh Research Office (ERO) Impact and Engagement team in April 2024 as Research Impact Manager for CSE. She has held various roles at The University of Edinburgh including Science Administration and Communications Manager at The Roslin Institute, SCCS Communications and Knowledge Exchange Executive, and Communications and Policy Officer at The Innogen Institute. Since completing a degree in Biochemistry from The University of St Andrews and a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from Imperial College London, she has worked as an editor for Springer Nature journals and a freelance science communications consultant providing writing and editing services for researchers, research organisations and companies. She is particularly interested in supporting the translation of research and emerging technologies into societally useful products and services.
