Background
Michael Watts completed his MA in International Business, and his MSc and PhD in Economics, at the University of Edinburgh. During his undergraduate degree he spent a year at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where his studies included economic development and urban economics. Michael's current research focuses on policing and other aspects of the economics of crime. He has previously worked on signalling, inheritance and the correlation between inequality and intergenerational mobility, and is also interested in racial discrimination and urban development.
