Background
Louise Connelly is a Senior Lecturer in Academic Development at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Louise provides pedagogical advice and develops digital resources for the Animal Welfare Centre (which incorporates The Jeanne Marchig International Centre for Animal Welfare Education). She delivers a number of workshops and manages the planning of the Veterinary Medical Education Division calendar of events for teaching colleagues; is responsible for the R(D)SVS suite of MOOCs; and teaches on undergraduate and MSc courses, focusing on e-professsionalism, animals and society (religion, death and grief), and social media related to various contexts (planetary health, One Health, and animal welfare); as well as research ethics (including AI). Louise is Convenor of the Human Ethical Review Committee (HERC); Chair of the Staff Development (SupportEdu) Committee and Co-Chair (Education) of the Career Development Committee. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Her research focuses on academic development; AI in the curriculum; social media (in different contexts); animal welfare; anthrozoology; digital religion; and research ethics.
