Biography

Background

Dr Stavroula Lila Kastora is a Rosetrees Clinical Lecturer at the Centre for Reproductive Health, University of Edinburgh, supported by the Rosetrees Trust, NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh. She is in training as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar and has previously achieved an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship and Lectureship. She holds a PhD in Systems Biology, MBChB and BSc. in Genetics from the University of Aberdeen.

Her research interests are in reproductive medicine, particularly unveiling the mysteries of ovarian function in the context of fertility preservation. In Edinburgh, her work focuses on mTOR signalling in human ovarian function, combining circulating and follicular-fluid biomarker analysis with laboratory-based granulosa-cell studies, in collaboration with NHS Lothian reproductive medicine services and the wider CRH research community.
