Background
Heather joined the University of Edinburgh in 2024 as the Registrar for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS). In this key leadership role, she oversees College Professional Services, operations, governance, the student lifecycle, and risk and financial management.
Prior to this, Heather spent 15 years at the University of Strathclyde, where she held several leadership positions, including Head of Continuous Improvement and Faculty Manager for Humanities and Social Sciences.
Heather has co-authored two publications on demonstrating the impact of change in higher education. She is passionate about fostering values-led, inclusive environments that enable individuals to thrive with a sense of belonging and purpose.
Heather is Deputy Chair for the baby loss charity Simba and is a patient representative on a maternal critical care research project within the Edinburgh Medical School at the University of Edinburgh. Heather holds an MBA and a PhD. Her thesis focused on strategy delivery in further and higher education settings.
