Background

Teaching:

I am an teaching-focused academic, committed to enhancing the student experience through a student-centred and research-led pedagogical approach. My teaching expertise lies in applied psychology (supportive environments for psychological health and functioning) and research methods, complemented by comprehensive teaching experience across core BPS areas. I have a strong track record of supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students on dissertations and review essays. As I transition my career towards teaching applied psychology, integrating environmental and clinical psychology, I aim to use my extensive experience in teaching, scholarship, and citizenship to advance applied psychology education.

Scholarship of Teaching & Learning:

  • "Resilient Learning Spaces for Resilient Learning Communities" (I lead a Learning Enhancement funded collaborative project with the University of St Andrews). 
  • Exploring campus spaces through neurodivergent lenses
  • Neurodivergent soundscapes in higher education: Stress inducing, stress relieving, attention depleting, and attention restoring 
  • Finding sanctuary: An exploration of neurodivergent students’ favourite places
  • Restorative and stress relieving potential of spending time in and guided imagery about students’ favourite places (funded by St Andrews Research Internship Scheme)
