Dr Ana Zeron

Lecturer (French)

Background

I joined The University of Edinburgh in 2009 as a French teacher for the Office of Lifelong Learning. Previously, I taught French as another language at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris and at the French Chilean Institute in Santiago de Chile.

Now, at the Centre for Open Learning, I teach French and I am the Coordinator for the French course collection at Languages for All. I also teach for the Access and International Foundation programmes, and I am a UCAS Adviser for our pre-undergraduate students.

At the Institute for Language Education (Moray House School of Education and Sport), I teach for the masters' programmes in Language Education, TESOL and Language & Intercultural Communication. I also supervise masters' dissertations for these programmes. My students' research interests are in the areas of language and the learner, interculturality and identity, and professional practice.

Before coming to the UK and after completing my Doctorate in Education, I participated in academic research projects in Chile, Brazil and France. My areas of interest were teacher training, learner experience, violence and authority in schools, and education for peace.
