Background
I obtained a MSci in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry in 2025 from the University of Glasgow. During my degree, I worked as a researcher in the Institute of Molecular Bioscience (IMB) at the University of Queensland (2023-2024) and at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (2024). My research specialised in the biochemistry of proteins found in the venom of medically significant Cubozoa.
After my degree, I obtained a PhD position studying the molecular profile of lipids to understand the mechanisms of pancreas lipotoxicity in type 2 diabetes (T2D), under the co-supervision of Dr Ahmad Al-Mrabeh and Prof. David Clarke at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science. This project integrates mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) with in vitro cell-based studies to uncover potential therapeutic targets to treat T2D.
