Thesis title: Exploring the Impact of Shift Work and Sleep on Police Officers' Health and Wellbeing
Background
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at UCL and my Master’s by Research in Integrative Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh. My MSc project looked at ameliorating disrupted circadian rhythms via ocular vasopressin sigalling in a rat model. Before starting my PhD, I also worked with the Digital Research Services team at the University of Edinburgh on data management projects and at the Centre for Chronobiology in Basel, investigating the phase-advancing effects of morning light. Building on my interest in chronobiology, I would like to explore the effects of circadian misalignment in mental and physical health. Specifically, my PhD project focuses on the effects of sleep and shift work on police officer’s health using an epidemiological perspective.
