Claire Patterson

Thesis title: 'More, better, together and European’ : A legal analysis of the boundaries of European defence through the lens of solidarity

Background

Claire Patterson is a PhD Candidate at the University of Edinburgh. She is a part of the Leverhulme Trust-funded project ‘Taming the Dark Energy of EU Law’ led by Professor Niamh Nic Shuibhne. Claire’s research focuses on the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy and EU constitutional law.

She has previously worked as a Research Fellow (Wissenschaftliche Assistentin) at the Institute for International Law and Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Zurich.
