Thesis title: Constitutional law and Fiscal Federalism in Conversation: a case study of Indian Finances

Background

Bhavinee is a PhD candidate researching on constitutional law theory and fiscal federalism through the case of India. She is a member of the research project titled “Reversing the Gaze: Towards Post-Comparative Area Studies”. Within the project, she works with the team lead by Dr. Deval Desai on “The Regulatory Architecture of the Cunning State: Unspent Public Funds in India and Italy. Bhavinee has previously been an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University, India where she taught Constitutional Law and Family Laws. She worked as a research assistant to Professor Johan D. van der Vyver, I.T. Cohen Professor of International Law and Human Rights at Emory University. At Emory Law School, she received the David J. Bederman Fellowship Award for the study of Public International law at The Hague Academy of International Law. 

Currently, she is undertaking a research stay as a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, as part of the LERU Law PhD Exchange Programme.
