Background

Benjamin graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh in 2019 and previously completed a degree in Psychology. He has done additional study in animal behaviour and training during and after his veterinary degree, including co-founding the Dick Vet Animal Behaviour Society in his first year of vet school to increase educational opportunities about animal behaviour for his classmates. He also completed an undergraduate certificate in veterinary medical education with teaching focussed on animal behaviour, delivered both to vet students and to members of the public. Since graduating, he has worked in small animal general practice and completed a rotating internship before returning to the Dick Vet to begin his residency in veterinary animal behaviour in 2025. He has a particular interest in preventative behavioural medicine and the role of behaviour in general practice. Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys spending time with his two collies, hillwalking, and gardening.
