Research summary

My research interests lie at the intersection of trauma treatment and the therapeutic alliance in psychotherapy. I am particularly interested in understanding how therapeutic relationships are established, negotiated, and sustained with survivors of trauma, especially those who have experienced complex relational trauma and sexual abuse.

These interests are informed by my clinical work as a licensed psychoanalyst in private practice. They are also grounded in Bordin's (1979) formulation of the therapeutic alliance and the substantial body of research identifying the alliance as one of the strongest predictors of psychotherapy outcome across treatment modalities.

My work explores how the therapeutic alliance develops within trauma-focused psychotherapy and examines how it may shape treatment engagement and therapeutic change. Through this work, I seek to contribute to evidence-based approaches that enhance clinical practice and support effective trauma treatment.
