Aoife Behan

Thesis title: Examining the key barriers, levers and incentives to food procurement in order to embed sustainable farming and consumption practices

Background

Prior to joining GAAFS, Aoife worked as an Executive Director for Soil Association, a leading sustainable food and farming charity. She has extensive experience of designing and managing complex change programmes and campaigns, and of leading and commissioning research projects to inform policy within the public and charitable sectors. During her time at Soil Association, Aoife led on the delivery of a range of Scottish Government funded programmes including the Rural Innovation Support Service which promotes farmer-led innovation and Food for Life Scotland which works to get fresh, healthy, Scottish food on school plates. Aoife is a social policy professional – she has an MSc in Social Policy and Planning from London School of Economics - with a keen interest in food and farming issues. She has a PG Dip in Gastronomy and a PG Dip in Management Studies.
