Biography

Background

Anurag Yadav is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer and Clinical Teaching Fellow at Edinburgh Medical School. He is presently a general practitioner (GP Partner) at Teviot Medical Practice, Hawick.

Anurag qualified in medicine from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, India. He then moved to the UK, for further training. He completed his Foundation Year training in Cardiff, Basic Surgical Training in Greater Manchester and General Practitioner Vocational Training in Scottish Borders. He has placed the emphasis on audit, teaching and excellent patient care. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience in caring for patients from a range of cultural backgrounds.

He lives in the beautiful Scottish Borders with his wife and two school-age daughters.

Anurag has a keen interest in medical education. He is the Lead Undergraduate Tutor at the practice. He is also involved in teaching and training of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, GP Specialty Year 1 and Year 3 Trainees.  He is also an examiner for the Final MBBS OSCE exam at the University of Edinburgh.

He is involved in teaching Research and Evidence-Based Medicine (REBM) along with Prof.John Frank, and organising and evaluating Student Select Component (SSC) Audit Project for HCP-Med students with Dr Helen Richards.  

Apart from work and medical education, he has an interest in listening to soulful Indian music, whisky tasting and nature.
