Dr Andrew Clausen

Senior Lecturer

Background

I am an economic theorist.  I came to economics via computer science.  When I studied cryptography, I was interested in how it could be used to design new and better institutions.  But cryptography is just one narrow type of incentive, and I became interested in how all kinds of incentives can be employed.  I am generally interested in making institutions promote honesty, broadly speaking.  For example, how can institutions be designed to resist corruption?
