Background
Kyla studied Pharmacology at the University of Dundee (BSc (Hons)) before moving to The University of Edinburgh for her PhD in September 2025. Her project, funded by the Albert McKern PhD Studentship, focusses on understanding whether maternal diabetes leads to aberrations in fetal adrenal development and if these changes contribute to adverse perinatal outcomes. She is supervised by Dr. Caroline Ovadia, Dr. Lisa Story and Dr. Mathias Lorbeer.
