Biography

Background

I have worked in the Edinburgh Research Office since 2017, initially in the role of Strategic Research Executive and now heading the Research Strategy Team. I bring experience in research and researcher development, strategy development, analysis and project management to the role and have broad networks across our academic and professional services communities. In previous roles, I have promoted open research practice, enabled research-supporting service improvement and delivered researcher skills development with UK and International partners. 

I lead the Research Strategy Team, in the Strategy, Development and Impact Directorate. The aim of my role is to support the growth and diversification of the University of Edinburgh's research portfolio. I achieve this through analysis of the wide influencers and drivers of research funding success, enabling  evidence-based identification of opportunities. Taking a project-based approach and working in conjunction with the rest of the Research Strategy team, I develop interventions which enhance our research portfolio in alignment with our Research & Innovation Strategy.
