The average temperature in Edinburgh is only three or four degrees lower than London, and it doesn't rain as often as you might think.
Rainfall in Edinburgh is well below the Scottish average and less annually than in Rome, Frankfurt and New York.
From April to September, our temperatures are mild and compare favourably with other European cities.
But it can get very cold and wet in winter; a warm, waterproof coat is essential.
