Edinburgh International Book Festival

The University sponsors events at the Book Festival and makes the annual presentation for the prestigious James Tait Black literary awards.

The University of Edinburgh is a major sponsor of the Edinburgh International Book Festival and utilises its international networks and areas of academic expertise to complement the programming.  Support is provided from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science as well as from a few other individual centres.  The annual award ceremony for the James Tait Black Prizes for Fiction and Biography is held at the Book Festival and the university has also collaborated with the Festival on an innovative new MOOC linked to the prizes called “How to read a novel”
