New Deputy Secretary appointed
Mr Douglas will take up the position in mid-September.

The University has appointed Gavin Douglas, Head of Student Recruitment, Admissions & International Relations at the University of Sheffield, as Deputy Secretary - Student Experience.
He began his career as an English Language teacher and worked in a number of related roles across Europe.
A leading role
Mr Douglas joined Perth College in 2000 as Language School Manager, before moving to Robert Gordon University in 2002 where he was appointed International Programmes Manager.
In 2006 he became Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing at the College.
He has been in his current role at the University of Sheffield since 2010.
Student-facing services
The Deputy Secretary - Student Experience will play a lead role, working closely with the Vice Principal Learning and Teaching, in aligning efforts across the University to enhance the student experience.
He will also be accountable for the Academic Registry and student-facing services, including the Careers, Counselling and Disability services and the Chaplaincy.
Mr Douglas holds a BA (Hons) in German from the University of Durham and an MBA from the Open University.
He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
