Commonwealth Games duties policy

University staff members who are to accept official voluntary roles for the 2014 Commonwealth Games may be granted additional paid leave to fulfil their duties.

In recognition of the University’s support for the Games, a policy has been developed covering the provision for both paid and unpaid (voluntary) roles.

Requests considered

Managers who receive requests for such time off should consider these in line with local business needs.

Where managers envisage difficulties with approving such time off, they can discuss these requests with their local HR advisers.
