Background
Dr Jana Travnickova is a Postdoctoral research fellow in Prof Liz Patton lab. She received her Masters degree in Pharmacy at Charles University in Czech Republic and then went on to do a PhD under supervision of Dr. Karima Kissa at University of Montpellier in France. During the PhD, her work focused on migration and establishment of hematopoietic stem cells during early development. Jana then joined Prof. Patton’s lab where she focuses on the characterisation of transcriptional heterogeneity in melanoma and residual disease using zebrafish melanoma models. Using single cell and spatial transcriptomics she discovered novel populations persisting after melanoma regression.
