Hermione Brandt

Background

Hermione is a PhD student in the Division of Global Agriculture and Food Systems at the University of Edinburgh. Funded by a Roslin Institute studentship, her research explores strategies and scenarios to promote planetary health diets across the UK.

She holds an MSc in Global Food Security and Nutrition from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from King’s College London. She is a registered dietitian and before embarking on her PhD was working clinically as a specialist dietitian in the NHS. Broadly, her academic background in sustainability, combined with her clinical nutrition experience, has shaped her commitment and motivation to explore how we can drive realistic and systemic transformations across our food systems to promote both population and environmental health.
