Research summary

Provisional PhD Title: 'Debt and Nation: Visualising National Identities through Debt in 1930s China.' My thesis explores how national identities relate to how we conceive and interpret socio-economic structures. My research is driven by interest in how financial instruments can produce social values, which in turn shift wider national frameworks. It examines how debt and credit facilitated the creation of nationhood under the Nationalist government during 1930s China.Provisional PhD Title: 'Debt and Nation: Visualising National Identities through Debt in 1930s China.'
