Background

Faith Dillon-Lee has a PhD in English Literature, focusing on the psycho- and sociological effects of fiction on belief formation. She also holds a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and ELT, as well as numerous teaching qualifications.  She is the web developer for the Teacher Education in EAP Special Interest Group, and is currently an External Examiner for Marino Institute of Education's IFP programme. She has been a PhD External Examiner for Kingston University (Kingston School of Art).

Faith has extensive experience in teaching and learning, curriculum & materials development, student engagement, achievement and progression, and education for empowerment. She has worked in Higher Education for over a decade and in leadership roles since 2019. Faith began her career in education through community development projects, including work with young offenders and learners with SpLDs, as well as overseas volunteer work. Her practice is based on dialogical pedagogies and critical learning theories.

As part of her current role, Faith oversees the English language component of the CAHSS International Foundation Programme (https://cahss.ed.ac.uk/international-and-study-abroad/foundation-programme) and Academic Language and Literacies (ALL) for CAHSS (https://www.ed.ac.uk/english-language-teaching/programme-partnerships).
