Background

Florence has a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Edinburgh and has been working in research funding and strategy since 2014. She held positions as a Grants Officer at the Academy of Medical Sciences (2014-2017) and a Strategic Research Coordinator at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2017-2018) before rejoining the University of Edinburgh in 2018.

From 2018-2023, she was the Strategic Research Coordinator for the Easter Bush Campus, comprising the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, the Roslin Institute and the Global Academy for Agriculture and Food Systems.

Florence is currently the IRR Senior Research Strategy Manager and has a dual remit for Research Strategy and Research Culture within the Institute for Regeneration and Repair. She is co-Chair of the CMVM Research Managers Network and a member of the University's Concordat Implementation Group supporting the implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
