Background
I have been working within the Audio Visual and Information Technology industry since 2006, where I have built up a knowledge of delivering and supporting new technology and software for AV/IT services, both in education and commercial environments within Edinburgh and across the United Kingdom.
I joined the University in 2012 as an AV/IT Service Team Technician within Learning Spaces Technology. Here I advised, trained and supported users in teaching and event spaces on campus. In 2017 I became the Central Service Team Supervisor where I organised the day to day running of the service team, overseeing service operations and working closely with the management team to improve services, equipment and technology in teaching and event spaces.
In August 2020 I began working as a Learning Technology Support Officer with Educational Design and Engagement. Here I provided support and advice to staff and students for technology enhanced learning tools provided by the University for learning and teaching activities. These tools are a varied set of systems that include virtual learning environments, online portfolios, assessment systems, multimedia, e-learning communication and collaboration tools.
Form April 2023 I continued my career within Educational Design and Engagement as a Learning Technology Advisor. Here I lead in support and advice to users of the University’s centrally supported learning technology services, contributing to the development and enhancement of services keeping in line with user needs and requirements. I also promote productive working relationships with partners across the University.
